Please join us for an afternoon of color with local artist Suzanne M. Payne.  Suzanne will help us kick of our 11th year of Pasco Lectures.  She will be here on Sunday, March 12th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. to discuss her works, pastel technique, and answer questions on how to get started.  IMG_4855

 

Ms. Payne is an award winning artist residing in Kennebunkport, Maine.  She attended Boston University’s School for the Arts (SFA) where she received her bachelor’s degree in Painting.  She belongs to many art associations including the Pastel Painters of Maine (PPOM), where she has received Signature Membership status.  She had also been Secretary for PPOM in 2004-2009, then appointed Vice President in 2009.  For 5 years she had served as co-chair for PPOM’s International Juried Exhibitions.  Other societies include The Pastel Society of America (PSA) where she is an Associate Member, the Pastel Society of New Hampshire (PSNH), the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod (PPSCC) and the Pastel Society of Connecticut (CPS).  She participated in numerous shows, local paintouts and auctions as well as having taught summer workshops at Heartwood College of Art.  She enjoys painting the local Maine landscape with both oils and pastels.  Suzanne is highly inspired by nature and creates her works either plein air or in the comfort of her home studio.  Suzanne’s work is represented by True North Gallery & Northlight Gallery both located in Kennebunkport, Maine.
