AN EVENING WITH BEST-SELLING AUTHOR – NATHANIEL PHILBRICK – SOLD OUT

The Trustees of the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library are pleased to announce their 6th annual Author Event to be held Thursday, June 28, 2018. The Kennebunk River Club has graciously made the Casino available for this special presentation to our patrons and friends in the community.  This year’s fundraising event will feature:New York Times best-selling author, Nathaniel Philbrick.
 

 
Nathaniel Philbrick was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He earned a BA in English from Brown University and an MA in American Literature from Duke University, where he was a James B. Duke Fellow.  He is the author of several books including:  Mayflower; In the Heart of the Sea : the Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex; Bunker Hill; Away Off Shore; Valiant Ambition : George Washington, Benedict Arnold, and the Fate of the American Revolution; and The Last Stand.  Philbrick has also received the Bryne Waterman Award from the Kendall Whaling Museum, the Samuel Eliot Morison Award from the USS Constitution Museum, the Nathaniel Bowditch Award from the American Merchant Marine Museum, the William Bradford Award from the Pilgrim Society, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New England Historic Genealogical Society, the Walter Cronkite Award from Sail Martha’s Vineyard, and several others.  He and his wife Melissa live on Nantucket Island.
Mr. Philbrick will address a special audience of Graves Library patrons on June 28th at the Kennebunk River Club Casino (6:00 PM). Tickets for this event are sold out.   All proceeds benefit the operations of the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library.
