On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Staff and Volunteers, and Patrons, I wish to extend our condolences to the Bush family.  Over the past several years, Mrs. Bush attended our annual author events introducing several of our speakers, donated hundreds of books to our collection, and supported us in our mission at the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library.  She will continue to be an inspiration and national treasure to us all.  Her love for children, reading, and community will not be forgotten.
Board Member, George Emery received a special note from our 2017 speaker today which sums up how we are all feeling about Mrs. Bush.  “Your friend Barbara’s passing saddens all of us. It was a real thrill, a career top ten, to have a President of the United States in the audience last summer, but having the First Lady along, too, was something I will never forget. She made you feel, from the moment you met her, as if you’d always known her. Thanks for setting that one up. I still appreciate it.”  (Author William Martin)
