PASCO LECTURE SERIES – MONTREAL AND MAINE AUTHOR SUSAN DOHERTY HANNAFORD RETURNS TO GRAVES
July 28, 2019 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
We are thrilled to have Montreal and Maine Author, Susan Doherty Hannaford, return to Graves Library for a Pasco Lecture on Sunday, July 28th at 2:00 pm. Susan will be here to read from her new novel, The Ghost Garden : Inside the lives of Schizophrenia’s feared and forgotten. Susan’s groundbreaking book brings us a population of lost souls, ill-served by society, feared, shunted from locked wards to rooming houses to the streets to jail and back again. For the past ten years, some of the people who cycle in and out of the severely ill wards of the Douglas Institute in Montreal, have found a friend in Susan, who volunteers on the ward, and then follows her friends out into the world as they struggle to get through their days.
The Pasco Lecture Series is sponsored by the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation, Kennebunk Savings Bank, and the Graves Library Snack Team. Sales and signing of will follow the talk. Please give us a call at 967-2778 with questions about this event or to find out what else is going on at Graves Library. Doors open at 1:30 pm.
