IN PERSON WINE TASTING WITH LANI DIETZ, BETSY ROSS and HOME INGREDIENTS

Join us on Thursday, May 19 @ 5:30 pm for a fun hour of tasting, information, and trivia. Local wine gurus, Lani Dietz and Betsy Ross, will guide us through the program with ideas, pairings, and educational tidbits as we sip wines selected by our two experts.  For this session, we will be IN PERSON at the Graves Library!  A suggested donation for this program is $25 pp.  You are welcome to use our DONATE button on the Home Page of our website, send a check to P.O. For anyone new to this very popular monthly event, Lani and Betsy choose the pair prior to the event.  Each time, we “experience” wines from a specific country or new varietal.  Four different wines will be paired with four different cheeses from Maine.
Please call the Library (967-2778) to register by Monday, May 16.  Space is limited – we recommend that you call in advance to reserve or space.  And because our friends at Home Ingredients is sponsoring this event, 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Graves Library.  Please stop in at the store to say hello when you are traveling through Dock Square!  Here is the link:  www.shophomeingredients.com

POWER IN AGING – APRIL 21 @ 9:00 AM

In celebration of 75 years of service to the community, The Kennebunkport Public Health Department invites you to a special program featuring Marilyn Gugliucci, MA, Ph.D. and Professor & Director of Geriatric Education and Research at the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine – Thursday, April 21 @ 9:00 am here at Graves Library.  Please call the Library to reserve your seat (967-2778).  Light refreshments and coffee will be served.

Topics to be covered:  (1)  Older age is often associated with disease and decline and there is good reason for that–our society socially constructed it that way!  (2)  To age optimally it is important to understand why our society views aging the way it does and what we can do about it; (3) Discuss how we age and how we exercise our own empowerment in the world to address aging.

We would love to see you for this important event!
