WINE TASTING WITH LANI DIETZ AND BETSY ROSS ~ MAY 16 @ 5:00 PM

Join us on Thursday, May 16 @ 5:00 p.m. for a very special wine tasting and unveiling of the painting for our raffle fundraiser.
Local wine experts Lani Dietz and Betsy Ross will guide us through the program with ideas, pairings, and educational tidbits of the selected wines from around the globe.
   
A suggested donation for this program is $25 pp. Please call the Library (967-2778) to register; space is limited for this event.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit Graves Library.

THE HISTORY OF MALAGA ISLAND – MAY 13 AT 2:00 PM

Malaga Island Program

We are pleased to have Maine State Archivist Kate McBrien join us on Saturday, May 13 at 2:00 pm to discuss the true history of Malaga Island (off the coast of Phippsburg, Maine).  Who lived there in the late 1800s?  What happened to the people of this community?  Why did the State of Maine take action to evict them from their homes?

Kate McBrien oversees the archives and records management programs for the State of Maine.  As curator of the award-winning exhibition, “Malaga Island, Fragmented Lives,” Kate is also a historian for the Malaga Island community.  She previously held positions as Chief Curator and Director of Public Engagement at the Maine Historical Society and as Curator of Historic Collections for the Maine State Museum.

Join us on Thursday, May 19 @ 5:30 pm for a fun hour of tasting, information, and trivia. Local wine gurus, Lani Dietz and Betsy Ross, will guide us through the program with ideas, pairings, and educational tidbits as we sip wines selected by our two experts.  For this session, we will be IN PERSON at the Graves Library!  A suggested donation for this program is $25 pp.  You are welcome to use our DONATE button on the Home Page of our website, send a check to P.O. Box 391, Kennebunkport, ME 04046, or pay at the door.  We appreciate your support!
For anyone new to this very popular monthly event, Lani and Betsy choose the pair prior to the event.  Each time, we “experience” wines from a specific country or new varietal.  Four different wines will be paired with four different cheeses from Maine.
