MORNING BOOK GROUP

The morning book group meets every second Thursday of the month at 9:45 am.  New members always welcome.  Copies of the book will be available upon request/reservation.  Please call the Library for further details (207) 967-2778.  We hope you will join us!

WINE ON-LINE WITH MAINE & VINE

Join us on Thursday, December 16 @ 5:30 pm for a fun hour of tasting, information, and trivia. Local wine gurus, Lani Dietz and Betsy Ross, will guide us through the program with ideas, pairings, and educational tidbits as we sip wines selected by our two experts. This will be a Zoom presentation moderated by Mary-Lou Boucouvalas at Graves Library.
For anyone new to this very popular monthly event, Lani and Betsy choose the pair prior to the event.  Each time, we “experience” wines from a specific country or new varietal.  All participants are encouraged to purchase wine at Maine & Vine in Lower Village, Kennebunk.  We are hoping Lani might share some stories of her recent trip to the West Coast!
Please call the Library (967-2778) to register by Wednesday, December 15 so that we can send you the Zoom link on the day of the event.  We would love to see you!  And you don’t have to worry about driving!

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS – ONLINE AUCTION (11/30/21 through 12/12/21)

 

 

The Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library will be hosting an on-line auction during Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude to help with budget shortfalls due to canceled events earlier this year.  “Home for the Holidays” consists of book-themed baskets that will be for sale through 32auctions.com/HOMEFOR21.  If you are looking for a gift for the holidays, stay-at-home nights, or a treat for yourself, sign on to the auction site (November 30 THROUGH December 12) and start bidding.  Twenty-Eight baskets are being designed and donated by friends of the Library, which means that 100 percent of the sales will directly benefit the Library.  We are especially grateful to Elizabeth and Richard Conrad for donating almost all of the handmade baskets, stoneware, and wood products made by artisans all over New England.  A few choices to consider:  Fireside Fun, Farm to Table, Holiday Dreams (for boys and girls), a Movie Premier Night, and many, many more.  Please feel free to call us at (207) 967-2778 for more details.

Once the auction closes (8:00 pm on December 12), you will be notified if your bid was the highest and we will make arrangements for pick up, shipping, etc.  Some perishables will need to be added prior to pick up for freshest content.  We hope you will find the perfect basket for you!
