MAINE AUTHOR RANDALL LIBERTY

October 7 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

As part of the Patsy Bray Mahoney Lecture Series, we are pleased to welcome Maine author Randall Liberty to the Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library on Friday, October 7, at 7 PM for this free program. Combining biography and a call to justice, Randall Liberty wrote “Liberty’s Prison: The Inmate’s Son Who Radically Reformed an American Prison”, which follows Liberty’s journey from maximum-security prison warden to Maine’s Commissioner of Corrections. When Liberty was seven years old, he traveled to the Maine State Prison to visit his incarcerated father. Forty years later, he returned to the prison as its warden. A trailblazer in the field of corrections, Liberty introduced innovative programs and dramatically reduced the use of restrictive housing. To reserve seats for this special author event visit Eventbrite or graveslibrary.org. Space is limited, tickets are available on Eventbrite or at graveslibrary.org. Parking is available at the library, on the street with overflow at Village Fire Station (North Street). Light refreshments will be served.
