AUTHOR JEFF MOULTON AT FURRY TALES
March 22 @ 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
FreeA Special March Furry Tales
“March is National Reading Month, and we’re excited to celebrate it by hosting a very special March Furry Tales! We’re collaborating with local children’s book author Jeff Moulton, who wrote an adorable little tale titled Mumford Saves the World, based on his own rescue dog. And since this March, our Furry Tales theme is “Rescue Dogs Rock,” we can’t think of a better way to celebrate!
Mumford Saves the World focuses on a rescued Boston Terrier from Mississippi who thinks of himself as a superhero. After becoming injured, he is rescued by a local animal shelter and eventually adopted by a family from Maine. Two years after being adopted, Mumford reflects on how important it is to have a positive outlook on life and to trust those who love you most. Mumford’s family took him in and chose to love him for who he is, and Mumford now repays the favor. Mumford teaches children that you can choose to be anything… even an everyday superhero!
Furry Tales Story Time combines pets, literacy, and fun! Hosted by our Youth Programs Coordinator, Miss Amanda, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families explore the exciting world of animals with stories, playtime, crafts, songs, movement, and plenty of time with various pets.
Furry Tales is FREE to attend. If you join us this month for our special Furry Tales, Miss Amanda, and Jeff Moulton will read to children and their families. Signed copies of Mumford Saves the World will also be available for purchase. Not to mention, Bowie, the rescued doodle puppy, will be there to say hello!” – https://animalwelfaresociety.org/youth/a-special-march-furry-tales/
