POLYPHARMACY PROGRAM

Are you aware that if you take five or more medications daily you are at an increased risk of unintentional consequences?  Please join us on Wednesday, March 29 @ 9:00 am in the Community Room for a very important program on Polypharmacy. 

Sydney Springer, Pharm.D., MS, BCPS, BCGP, is an Assistant Professor at the University of New England School of Pharmacy.  She will be here to discuss ways you can prevent the risks of medication consequences and how to become a more informed health consumer. 

This program is hosted by the Kennebunkport Public Health Department and Graves Library.  Light refreshments will be served.

WILLS/GUARDIANSHIPS – THE PROS AND CONS

In celebration of the Public Health Office turning 75 this year, we are teaming up with the nurses to offer monthly discussions on a variety of topics.  For this session, our guests will be Candice Simeoni (head of elder crimes); Kennebunkport Detective Cory Tardif; Michael Maloney, VP of Kennebunk Savings; and Bridget McMahon, an Attorney with Legal Services for the Elderly.  The very important topics of discussion will encompass the pros and cons of setting up your future wishes.

 

Officer Simeoni is an instructor at the Maine Criminal Justice  Academy teaching cadets Elder Crime Investigations and presents around the State of Maine on Older Adult Exploitation.
She has been a law enforcement officer since 2004 and has been featured in many media outlets about the work she is doing in support of our aging nation.

Michael Maloney is a Vice President at Kennebunk Savings Bank and member of the York County Elder Abuse Task Force.

Bridget McMahon, JD, is an attorney at Legal Services for the Elderly.

In celebration of the Public Health Office turning 75 this year, we are teaming up with the nurses to offer monthly discussions on a variety of topics.  For the February 23 session, Candice Simeoni (head of elder crimes) will be here in person to talk about the tips and tricks of cyber scammers (take 2!).  Please call to register for this event as space will be limited (per CoVid guidelines).  We will also offer a Zoom link for those who cannot physically make it to the Library.

COFFEE AND CONVERSATION

Join us for some coffee and conversation with Joe Wolfberg, Professor at the University of New England on Thursday, November 21 at 9:30 am.  Professor Wolfberg will discuss different ways to age in a healthful way.   No registration is required.  Light refreshments will be served.
