AUTHOR VISIT WITH JOCELYN LACEY

Off the rocky coast of Maine lived a mermaid named Coral. Coral was like most mermaids her age. She liked going to school, had many friends, and was fun to be around. The only thing that made her different was she still had her baby blanket she’d had since she was born. Her special blanket was white with little red lobsters on it, that she named Lobbie. It reminded her of the special place she lived: Maine! Only her family knew that she still slept with her blanket, Lobbie. She was so attached to it, as she’d had it her entire life. She could always count on it to make a bad day better and comfort her when she’d had a bad dream. It was also nice to have when she was sick and needed extra love and care.

Come meet Maine Author, Jocelyn Lacey on Thursday, July 18 at 1:00 pm.  Mermaid songs, dances, and a special craft will be included in this afternoon of mermaid fun!

BAG PIPES AND MOON CAKES

Bag Pipes in the Library?  You bet!  Jennifer Armstrong lives and works on Gypsy Rose Farm in Belfast, Maine.  She has chickens, ducks, turkeys, milk goats, one horse and a barn cat.  As she says, she sometimes feels that she has stepped into the folk songs she learned from her parents when she is milking the goats or herding the turkeys into the pen.  She writes songs about farming, life’s mysteries, love and gratitude. She also hosts a Pie and Story Festival annually at the Belfast Boathouse, gives music lessons on a variety of instruments and performs in all manner of venues around the state and the country.

Join us for stories and songs with Jennifer Armstrong.  A great afternoon filled with unbelievable sounds!

YOGA BEGINNINGS

Yoga Beginnings

Please join us and our guest, Leslie Cargill, a certified Yoga Instructor, who will lead little ones and their parents through exercises in breathing and movement.  Please call the Library at 967-2778 for more information.
