MANDALAS WITH MARGUERITE
Mandalas with Marguerite
Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM
Registration required 207-967-2778

Join us for a special art class with Marguerite Genest, Ed.D., who will teach us how to create our own Mandalas. In ancient Sanskrit, “mandala” means both circle and center. For centuries, creating these incredible pieces of art has been a great way to “turn off” daily stress and decrease anxiety for centuries. They are also a way for us to understand how we see ourselves, our world and our life’s purpose. Marguerite Genest, Ed.D., is an educational consultant and artist originally from Western MA and currently living in Kennebunk. She holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology and a doctorate in Educational Psychology. As an instructor of Social Emotional Learning and executive functioning skills, she focuses on developing self-awareness that ultimately shapes one’s view of self and the external world. She uses art, including the meditative process of mandala drawing, to reduce anxiety and enhance self-confidence. She exhibits her art in galleries and shows in New England, and paints commissioned portraits of children and pets. To learn more, see her website at mgenestart.com. This project -known as fun art, not fine art- requires no crafting or artistic experience. All skill levels are welcome, and all supplies are provided. Space is limited, so please call the library to register at 207-967-2778.
The Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library is located at 18 Maine Street, Kennebunkport. For further information, please visit our website at www.graveslibrary.org.
