Remember how great it was to be read to as a child?  Now you can relive that joyful experience as an adult!  Just tune us in and tune out the world for a few minutes of well-chosen words. Graves Library presents a merry band of readers to share a story, maybe some music, or parts of a play each Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm on Facebook, Youtube, and the local cable channel (#1301).

Tune in, sit back, and listen to a diverse mix of quality stories, poems, tales, essays, drama, songs and more by the Portside Readers, a small group of local actors, writers, book club members and a musician who love the written word and want to share the joys of reading and listening.  Readers include Steven Price, Val Reid, Bob Danzilo, Karen Stathoplos, Cynthia Graves, Bob Domine, Marcia Matthews, Bart Weyand, Nancy Viehmann and Pam Thompson.

EVENING BOOK GROUP – via – ZOOM (or Outside)

The Evening Book Group usually meets the last Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m.   This month, the group will meet on May 27 at 6:00 pm.  If you would like to participate in our meeting via Zoom, please call the Library (207-967-2778) or email ml@graves.lib.me.us  to be added to the invitation list.  If the weather is perfect, we will consider meeting outside of the Library in the garden.

A link will be sent to all participants early in the day to access the meeting.  We will be discussing Mill Town : Reckoning with What Remains by Kerri Arsenault.

KERRI ARSENAULT is the Book Review Editor at Orion magazine, and Contributing Editor at Lithub. Arsenault received her MFA in Creative Writing from The New School and studied in Malmö University’s Communication for Development master’s programme. Her writing has appeared in Freeman’s, Lithub, Oprah.com, and The Minneapolis Star Tribune, among other publications. She lives in New England. Mill Town is her first book.

CHILDREN’S BOOK LOOK – April 15 @ 10:00

Please tune in on Thursday, April 15 @ 10:00 am to this pre-recorded program with Miss Terri as she answers your letters and email questions to suggest books, articles, and movies on the topic of Feelings.  She will have lots of recommendations for children of all ages.  This session will be posted on our Facebook, YouTube, and local television network.

As always, we are happy to set aside any books you want to read and/or watch with your children.  Please give us a call at 967-2778.
