STOP THE SCAMMERS – CYBER SCAMMERS (TAKE 2!)
In celebration of the Public Health Office turning 75 this year, we are teaming up with the nurses to offer monthly discussions on a variety of topics. For the February 23 session, Candice Simeoni (head of elder crimes) will be here in person to talk about the tips and tricks of cyber scammers (take 2!). Please call to register for this event as space will be limited (per CoVid guidelines). We will also offer a Zoom link for those who cannot physically make it to the Library.
Don’t get sucked into this dreadful web of deceit and tomfoolery that is serious business.
Officer Simeoni is an instructor at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy teaching cadets Elder Crime Investigations and presents around the State of Maine on Older Adult Exploitation.
She has been a law enforcement officer since 2004 and has been featured in many media outlets about the work she is doing in support of our aging nation. Officer Candice Simeoni
has worked on many Elder Exploitation cases, some of which, she will share with you through in hopes to share knowledge so that you or those you know do not fall victim to exploitation
happening right here in our communities. Officer Simeoni will share common scams in the area, talk about the most common perpetrators of Elder Abuse, talk about the York County Elder
Abuse Task Force she founded in 2005 and empower you with ways to help protect yourselves.
This program is sponsored by the Kennebunkport Public Health Office, the Health Council, and Graves Library.
